This is a Royal Caribbean Alaska cruise review, covering cruises between Vancouver, British Columbia and Anchorage (Seward), Alaska.
Royal Caribbean currently operates three ships in Alaska every summer, far fewer than either Princess or Holland America cruise lines.
However, Royal Caribbean despite a small presence in the Alaska market, offers excellent service, wonderful onboard activities, and a good selection of shore excursions.
The ships operated by Royal Caribbean in Alaska are:
Radiance of the Seas
Serenade of the Seas
Vision of the Seas
Each of the ships operates different itineraries, with Radiance sailing between Vancouver and Anchorage, Serenade sailing round trip voyages out of Vancouver, and Vision of the Seas operating round trip routes out of Seattle.
Royal Caribbean has excellent ships and service.
However, both Princess Cruise Lines and Holland America offer far more cruise ships and better shore excursions.
For this reason, Royal Caribbean would be my third choice for Alaska cruises, behind Princess and then Holland America.
However, Royal Caribbean is still an excellent option for cruising Alaska.
Radiance of the Seas and Serenade of the Seas are both in Royal Caribbean’s new Radiance class of ships, a mid sized class with rooms for some 2,100 passengers.
One unique feature of the Radiance class of ships is that they have more than the average number of windows - in fact, they have an astonishing three acres of windows.
This really opens the ships up and gives astounding views from most decks.
This feature makes the ships a wonderful choice for cruising Alaska, where the views are breathtaking and constant.
The dining, spas, and service are all top notch in Royal Caribbean ships, making your trip truly special and relaxing.
To summarize my Royal Caribbean Alaska Cruise Review, this cruise line is one of my top three choices for Alaska cruises and would make an excellent choice for anyone considering taking an Alaska vacation.
