Misty Fjords Seaplane Tour: The #1 Best Alaska Shore Excursion
Of all the many great tours and excursions Available in Alaska, Misty Fjords stands out as the best.
I made this choice based on my experience, feedback from clients and others, and research, and I am confident this is one tour everyone will really love.
Misty Fjords National Monument is accessible from Ketchikan, which is generally the first Alaska cruise stop heading northbound, or the last in Alaska heading south.
THE BEST OVERALL EXCURSION
Misty Fjords is a stunning network of steep fjords flanked by 2000 foot cliffs. The fjords end in the magnificent Sawyer Glaciers.
Words don't do justice to the sheer beauty of this place, so I am including several pictures to give you some idea of its beauty, majesty, and magic.
The monument is a short 15-20 minute flight from Ketchikan, but the most remarkable thing about the area is how pristine and untouched it is.
Accessible only by plane or boat, very few people ever get the chance to see this amazing area. Most cruises don't stop here either, so your only cheance to see this natural wonderland might well be on a seaplane excursion.
Called the "Yosemite of Alaska", this beautful network of fjords has the advantage of being extremely remote and thus is able to retain a sense of sheer serenity.
So if you have the chance, and it fits within your budget, I highly reccommend this excursion. It is one tour you will certainly never forget.
