Homer, Alaska

Homer Alaska is a picturesque fishing village located on the Kachemak Bay, where the Cook Inlet meets the Gulf of Alaska.


Situated on the tip of the beautiful Kenai Peninsula, the town is 225 miles southwest of Anchorage.

The drive from Anchorage is nothing short of spectacular, so plan on taking the better part of the day if you drive to Homer, especially if you are into photography.

Homer is probably best know for the Spit, a 4.5 mile finger of land extending straight out into the Kachemak Bay.

The Spit is home to numerous shops, along with some of the best known local cafes and saloons.

There is plenty of shopping and dining to be found in Homer.

If you are visiting in the summer, perhaps as a pre- or post- Alaska cruise trip, the quaint art galleries and shops along the Spit’s boardwalk are open.
