Tips on Planning Your Perfect Canadian Rockies Vacation or Cruise Land Tour
The Canadian Rockies are one of the most amazing and beautiful areas on Earth. They are a wonderful place to vacation or to tour before or after an Alaska cruise.
As you can see from the pictures, this region has some absolutely breathtaking scenery. It just doesn't get any better than this.
They also have some wonderful world-class resorts, including the Fairmont Hot Springs Resort, the Moraine Lake Lodge, the Rimrock Resort Hotel, and the granddaddy of the all, the magnificent Fairmont Chateau Lake Louise.
All sorts of outdoor activities are available in this region, from hiking to kayaking to canoeing.
In fact, the region's Banff National Park, Canada's oldest and greatest national park, is known as the hiking capitol of Canada.
As much as I am an avid outdoorsman and love the outdoor adventures available in this area, perhaps the best activity of all is simply taking in the area's scenery and... relaxing.
Frankly, I can think of nowhere else more calming to the mind and spirit than this area.
Of course, bus tours of the park and surrounding areas are available, and they are a great way to explore for cruise passengers and other first-time visitors to the area.
Or, if you are into more independent travel, it's easy to rent a car in Vancouver or Alberta and explore all the less traveled nooks and crannies of this vast, unspoiled region.
Of all the wonderful land tours available to Alaska cruise passengers, I think the tours of Canada's Rockies are simply the best option of all.
The landscape and scenery is unrivalled, and the hotels and resorts are simply of a class and quality beyond any in Alaska.
So whether you are looking for the perfect relaxing vacation or a scenic land tour to accompany an Alaska cruise, my advice would be to consider the Canadian Rockies.
