Alaska Tourism
Alaska tourism options are incredibly abundant and diverse, including everything from glacier cruises to rail tours to some of the best salmon sport fishing anywhere on the planet – you can find it all in Alaska.
As you can see in the video above, the landscape is spectacular. In fact, there is far too much to see in any one trip.
In general, the best time to visit Alaska is from May to September. During this period, the weather is surprisingly temperate, with daily highs averaging anywhere from 60 to 75 degrees (16 to 24 degrees celsius).
Some of your many options when visiting this enormous and breathtakingly beautiful state include:
- Cruising the rainforest, Fjords, and glaciers of the Inside Passage.
- Fishing for salmon, halibut, or a huge array of freshwater fish.
- Touring the vast and pristine interior of the state.
- Experiencing the incredible and fascinating native culture.
One of the best ways to experience much of coastal Alaska is on an Alaskan cruise.
In fact, this is one of the only ways you can see many of the most amazing natural features of the lower portion of the state, known as the Inside Passage.
Such incredible places as Glacier Bay National Park and Tracy Arm Fjord are accessible only by boat, but they are some of the most breathtakingly beautiful spots on Earth and well worth the visit.
In addition, the many small towns and cities of Alaska each have their own unique character and charm, from the surprisingly cosmopolitan and vibrant Anchorage to the Alpine setting and natural beauty of the state’s quaint capitol, Juneau.
This is literally just the tip of the iceberg – there is much more to see and do in Alaska, and most of it is covered in this site, so take a poke around.
I really love this state, and I think you will find that Alaska tourism has much to offer you, whether you are a family with kids, a young adult seeking adventure, or a senior couple seeking romance and excitement.
