There are also a wide variety of fishing lodges throughout Alaska, from the Inside Passage region in the south to Kodiak Island in the south west.
Throughout the state, non-Alaskans are limited to either one or two king salmon per trip, but catches of sockeye, silver, chum, and pink salmon are less restricted.
In the south east panhandle region (the Inside Passage), all five varieties are available out of most towns, but salmon are especially plentiful in Ketchikan and Sitka.
Overall, Alaska salmon fishing is incredible, with double and triple hookups common during peak seasons. If you love salmon, you have to get up to Alaska.
