It truly is a beautiful place, isn't it? I'm glad they got to see it together. Cruises really are a great way for people of all ages to experience Alaska.

The easiest way to do this would be to book a one-way cruise between Vancouver and either Whittier or Seward. You can book salt water fishing trips out of both these Alaskan ports either before or after your cruise.

We don't book cruises directly on this site, but you can generally find good prices on cruise.com , or, if you would like more help planning your trip, you could try Travel Wizard, which specializes in more personalized attention.

In most ports, you can book a fishing trip or charter during your day in port. You can do this in Ketchikan, Juneau, and Sitka, among other places. You can usually book these day trips either through your cruise line or directly through the charter operator (which is often less expensive).

But if you do book the trip on your own, make sure to let the charter company know which cruise you are on and when your ship will be leaving. Missing your boat can really ruin your trip (and cost you a ton of money too).

We would like to do the cruise but we would also like a couple days of saltwater fishing. Do you have anything that would work for both of these interests?

On any of the cruises is there a port stop that we could then take a day off of cruise and go on a fishing trip?

My parents went on their Alaskan Cruise at the ages of 86 and 89! They wished they had done it much earlier in life so that they could have enjoyed the stops along the way also. Alaska is such a beautiful state!
